I just recently came out of my heart surgery
And made it back into the life I've known.
I've kept a positive attitude, that helped me
make it through-
To see yet the joys and wonders of my life as
the days continue.
I am still needed here on this earth
To use my talents and become more wise.

Carol’s Corner was started because there was a growing need of purpose and meaning in each of our lives. I lived a happy and blessed life that I wanted to give back; and this was my way to do that— In this blog, you will find words of inspiration written in poetic style, with meaning in simplified verse. May your life continue to brighten with each day and then you will find the true happiness within.

Silver Lake
Nestled in the upper Midwest
Where the Canadian geese flock-
An awesome sight to behold
When down the path I walk.
Eager to watch and be noticed
The geese sound their little honks,
Waiting for a hand of corn seed
As residents begin the new day.
Looking out into the scenic lake
I take notice of the silver lining,
Reflected by the sun’s shiny light
Of the mid-morning sky of gray.
The sidewalk path near my car
Was filled with goose droppings,
But beyond that mess I had left
The etched memory in my mind.

Only Fair-
How do you feel today
In this warm month of May?
“Just great!” I would say
In the sun’s beaming ray.
I noticed it then and there
That you shower me with care.
And it is only to be fair-
We make a splendid pair!

Think of Yourself as a Blossom. Why?
It appears and springs forth into the world
It grows continuously with sun, warmth and care
It needs attention and protection in development
It shows beauty in its detail and character
It displays the vivid color in its silhouette
It requires refreshing water for its brilliance
It can withstand powerful winds and storms
It grows into maturity that sets fruit for others
It leaves a mark of depth and beauty while it’s here
It tries to last, but wilts away in its chosen time.

Life
On this beautiful day
As the children go out to play
I bow my head to pray—
That into the near future
They will see a joyful picture
And not be fallen by a lure.
From up above they will be blessed
Given peace, strength; and not be stressed
As life becomes fully dressed.
On this beautiful day
I bow my head to pray—
As my children went out to play.

Life is Full of Surprises-3 (Three Parts)
I like to surprise MY CHILDREN; like when I—
Brought out the face paint
Took them to the swimming pool
Had taken them for a fast food meal
Brought them to the mall
Took them to the fair
Threw a birthday party with balloons
Spent hours at an amusement park
Treated them with ice cream cone
Told them how special they are
Took them for a pony ride
And the list goes on and on……

Life is Full of Surprises-2 (Three Parts)
I like to surprise MY LADY; like when I
Purchased tickets to see a movie
Planned a romantic vacation
Placed a thank you note in the kitchen
Worked out, built muscles, lost weight
Cooked supper on the grill
Had enjoyed a date we’d never forget!
Sent her flowers at her work
Watched the sun set, followed by romance
Text her to say “I LOVE YOU”
Went for a long cruise in the car!
And the list goes on and on……
