The warmth of the sun was here.
Many people went out for a haircut
So many decided to shorten it up.
It was awhile that in my thoughts was
To stop coloring my hair; this was it.
I first noticed my scalp itchy with sores
So I made an appt to see my dermatologist.
It was ruled out for any cancer/ hair dye
Causes concern of chemicals used in years.
Thank God it more/ less was a dry skin
Condition that required needed lotion .
It was then, this was the day and year when
I begin to do as I said that I would.
From my natural brunette days it will be
A few haircuts to my natural elder white.
I didn't see it gray within, as I worked as
A dedicated career woman most of my life.
I may again want that dark brown
Sparkle, then it will become a balayage.
Salt and pepper, you might see me in
A mixture of dark brown and white.
It would be my first two tone look, but
I'll certainly miss my full brunette.
