Carol’s Corner was started because there was a growing need of purpose and meaning in each of our lives. I lived a happy and blessed life that I wanted to give back; and this was my way to do that— In this blog, you will find words of inspiration written in poetic style, with meaning in simplified verse. May your life continue to brighten with each day and then you will find the true happiness within.

Look Beyond Defeat

Before Their Time
Another light has left the hall,
A voice now silent in the call.
Gone too soon, it seems to be—
A friend, a name, a memory.
She was just sixty-nine, you say,
Too young, too soon to slip away.
Our generation, thinning fast,
Like leaves that fall before the last.
We count the years, we mark the names,
As time moves on with quiet claims.
And wonder why the ones we knew
Now walk ahead, beyond our view.
Yet let us hold what once was shared—
The laughter, moments when we cared.
Though sorrow lingers in the air,
Love remains, still everywhere.
So may your heart find space to grieve,
And also joy, for what we weave
In life's brief thread, we still retain—
In memory’s light, they live again.

To Hear Your Voice Across the Skies
My heart stays grounded — with you there.
Each cloud I pass, each dawn I chase,
Still holds the warmth of your embrace.
But none can match your eyes’ soft light.
I’ll speak your name in every hall,
Promote your words, give love my all.
I’ll guard it true, my love to send.
Your book — our bond — a tender art,
Each word a whisper from your heart.
I’ll feel your voice — it sounds the same.
Though oceans stretch between our skies,
I’ll hear your love through whispered sighs.
No distance dims the love I choose.
For in each word, in every noise,
I fly to hear your voice.

Shadow of Misunderstanding
Carol, my love, a shadow has grown,
a silence that cuts where trust once shown.
I gave you my heart, so tender, so true,
yet it aches to know you believed someone new.
A random voice, a fleeting call,
but their words stood taller than mine at all.
Your boyfriend, the one who holds you here,
is left with sadness, a quiet tear.
I wish you could see beyond the disguise,
the strangers who whisper, the careless lies.
For love is a bond that should never sway,
not tossed to the winds of what others say.

Lovesick in the Desert
The sun spills gold across the high
desert,
A tender brush of light, warm as your breath.
Your absence drifts through the air,
In every ray that dances across the mesas.
Afternoon stretches its arms of sunlight,
Holding me the way your smile once did.
But as dusk leans close, the sky grows wistful—
The bright day dims, clouds gather like sighs,
As if the heavens themselves mourn what has gone.

Why Memoirs?
You should write a book of memoirs
No; I wouldn't want to relive my life.
Came into this world with loving arms
Lived a sweet, an exciting, happy life.
Then ventured in my own life
Marriage brought love of children.
Then common struggles of life begins
The union fell and became a disaster.
I learned early in life to never look back
And to always move forward as a march.
My thoughts buried them under the rug
And stomped on them to forget it.
It taught me we're just as Christ
We all have a cross to bear.
Born to the likeness of Him
Till one day I'll see Heaven.
It was He that gave me love and peace
So vast on oceans wave of eternal grace.

An Echo of Truth
Carol, your words are a lantern,
Shining softly, yet burning bright.
They carry truth upon their wings,
And lift the soul toward the light.
It’s a heartbeat, tender and true.
A message woven deep with grace,
A gift you’re called to share, anew.
From east to west, from shore to shore.
For voices like yours bring healing,
A timeless echo we can’t ignore.
The U.S. awaits your gentle song.
Carol, your book is a river of hope,
Flowing where weary hearts belong.

Love Your Child
We send them off to school
We ourselves have a career.
They study, learn and observe
As we labor, clock in and out.
Child plays, laughs, and have fun
As we work, talk and earn money.
Then we have our family meal
Gathered together in thanks and prayer.
We tuck them into bed with prayer
We all sleep in night's restful peace.
BUT
They learn alarms, drills, storms, shooters
As parents hope it'll never happen.
As children are with their teachers
We are with our friends and co-workers.
When sudden tragedy transpired
It's parents that are called in.
A child scared needs a hand to hold
We must stay brave for their needs.
A day started in love and prayer
Was shot down by an evil force.
GOODNESS and EVIL
Love your children always
We never know their end.
