Why Do You Play With My Heart?

You glanced and stole my heart,
Then your words just filled me-
I became overwhelmed by them.

Feelings of love were enhanced
At each moment of your touch
As your kindness overflowed.

I hear and see you in my mind
When I awake with each morn-
My heart aches for your love.

Tell me why you tug at my heart?
I’m afraid to fall in love with you.
This could be just a lover’s game.

It’s filled with fun and excitement
That lasts for just a brief moment-
And it happens once in a lifetime.

I’d Like to Thank You!

I’d like to thank you for spending time with me
I’d like to thank you for helping me understand
I’d like to thank you for all of your sacrifices
I’d like to thank you for taking care of me.

I’d like to thank you for giving me a life
I’d like to thank you for your guidance
I’d like to thank you for your protection
I’d like to thank you for loving me.

I’d like to thank you for all your prayers
I’d like to thank you for all of your worries
I’d like to thank you for your wisdom
I’d like to thank you for helping me.

I’d like to thank you for accepting me
I’d like to thank you for teaching me
I’d like to thank you for remembering me
I’d like to thank you for being my parents.

A Farmer’s Daughter

My father toiled the land, and loved the land;
He grew corn, soybeans, oats, and alfalfa.
Lived on an acreage of home and buildings,
Raised dairy cows, hogs, chickens and ducks.

Life was spent in doing everyday chores,
Going to school and learning all studies.
Caring for the family; preparing meals of
Fruit and vegetables grown from the garden.

My beginning was started on the farm in Iowa;
A mid-west state in the United States of America.
I’ve grown to love the land and all of natures’
Magnificent beauty, in my little corner of the world.

Then I left home for work in the city
To begin an adventure of my very own.
Many thoughts still take me to the wonder
Of how my life has been truly blessed!

Those Golden Years

Many parents are becoming olden in years,
And it sometimes brings my eyes to tears-

Their life becomes limited in what they’ve done
To raise up their children that are already gone.

It soon becomes our turn to watch and care for them
And we’ll realize then, they were precious as a gem.

Please Take Care of Me

In the good days and the bad days,
With the great times and the difficult times.

When things are well and when they’re not
Or when we feel too sick to carry on.

Sometimes I need a shoulder to lean on
When trouble comes my way and yours.

Lots of love will keep us strong but at
Some point it could make a wrong-

So talk with me and stand beside me,
Through all the days within our life.

For when the final curtain has arrived-
We knew in our death, we would part.

A Ball

It is round, light, and colorful.
You will touch it and pick it up.
You will toss it, catch it, hold it.
Find a friend
Toss it back and forth, keep your eye on it!
Now-
Maybe the ball has texture?
You can bounce it, dribble it, pass it.
Now-
Maybe the ball is not round, but oval?
You can kick it, throw it, catch it.
Now-
Maybe the ball is hard and heavy?
You can aim it, steady it, roll it.
Now-
Maybe the ball is medium hard?
You can hit it, throw it, catch it.
Now-
Maybe the ball is medium soft?
You can serve it, forehand it, drop shot it.
Now-
Maybe the ball is really small?
You can high-bounce it, wall it, grab it.

Maybe the ball is used in sports?
Find a team
And have some fun today!

Are we talking beach ball, basketball, football, bowling ball, baseball,
tennis ball, super ball and all others?
Yes, let’s play!
