Daddy’s Girl

I loved my Dad;
I wanted to be near him.
And one time he had been
Fencing in the fields.

I asked if I can see Dad.
Mother told me not to go,
But I did anyway!

I walked right into the
Barbed wire fence and
Somehow it swung back
At me very fast.
Faster than I can blink!

Anyway, my chin now
Shows scars from that day.
I was rushed to the doctor
To place some stitches.

Once again; I went with Dad
Shopping for groceries.
I helped unload them from
The car and accidently shut
My thumb in the car door.

Another trip to the doctor
For stitches to my thumb.
Yes, I was daddy’s girl!

To this day I often remember
My love for my Dad with
A memory that I hold dear.

Dear Readers: I have been asked if this is a real story. Yes, this is a biographical verse. It remained with me in my mind and it is the first time that I have written it down. I was a little young child as you can tell when this occurred!

I live with these scars knowing that love is there with me every single day. Love such as this is equivalent to God's love as well.

Next time I want to marry someone that is very similar to my Dad! Yes, I did LOVE my parents alot. There were times I may have wanted to do something; but I was one of those children who loved, honored and respected my parents.
