Bloodshed in the Middle East

This has been going on for 40 years or so
I was a young child listening to the news
I grew up in West.  This is still going on.
Where is the strong leadership and faith?
We all are humans; with intelligent minds.

I grew up believing in a peaceful world
Believing in caring for one another
Believing in helping each other
Believing in being neighborly
Believing in doing good; not evil.

I wish I could understand your thinking
What it is that carries in your thoughts?
I would not want generations to continue
In witnessing bloodshed into the future.
What is left for these people’s welfare?

If this were me; I’d become so sad and weary
I couldn’t have that smile on my face.
I would not see the happiness or even feel it
I would wonder what kind of world we live in.
I would be restless and agitated by what I see.

In order to stop this; there has to be a turn around.
A justice and dignity must prevail and win.
An extreme need of education and reform
A desire of love and kindness for everyone
And a lasting hope of our life in the world.

Dear Readers;

This verse was written 3 years ago. We are now seeing the refugees fleeing their countries and we keep hearing about terroristic attacks happening everywhere in the world.

These words flowed freely through my mind and then written down. This seems to be one of a few verse that has been written by foresight.

I wish I could do something about the world's issues; I'm doing the best that I can.

Thanks for reading my written words,
Carol
