My Heart Surgery

I just recently came out of my heart surgery
And made it back into the life I've known.

I've kept a positive attitude, that helped me
       make it through-
To see yet the joys and wonders of my life as
       the days continue.

I am still needed here on this earth
To use my talents and become more wise.

Silver Lake

Nestled in the upper Midwest
Where the Canadian geese flock-
An awesome sight to behold
When down the path I walk.

Eager to watch and be noticed
The geese sound their little honks,
Waiting for a hand of corn seed
As residents begin the new day.

Looking out into the scenic lake
I take notice of the silver lining,
Reflected by the sun’s shiny light
Of the mid-morning sky of gray.

The sidewalk path near my car
Was filled with goose droppings,
But beyond that mess I had left
The etched memory in my mind.

Only Fair-

How do you feel today
In this warm month of May?
“Just great!” I would say
In the sun’s beaming ray.

I noticed it then and there
That you shower me with care.
And it is only to be fair-
We make a splendid pair!

Think of Yourself as a Blossom. Why?

It appears and springs forth into the world
It grows continuously with sun, warmth and care
It needs attention and protection in development
It shows beauty in its detail and character
It displays the vivid color in its silhouette
It requires refreshing water for its brilliance
It can withstand powerful winds and storms
It grows into maturity that sets fruit for others
It leaves a mark of depth and beauty while it’s here
It tries to last, but wilts away in its chosen time.
